Candles for a Cause
Meet the Holistic Hipster plain jane candle - a 100% soy wax, 0% scent candle - handpoured with love (by me!) here in the Forest City. Scented candles can be great, but sometimes you just want a cozy glow without the fragrance. When your space already smells wonderful from the essential oils you've been diffusing or from the Wolf and Hawk incense you've been burning and you just want some additional ambiance, scented candles can harsh those peaceful vibes.
For the month of March, I'll be selling these 8oz. candles for $15 each. But wait... there's more! I'll also be donating 100% of those dolla bills to sagecomm's campaign to raise $10K for the Teach & Play Program. This program provides specialized toys for children right here in our community with special needs to help them grow, learn and develop essential skills. If that goal of $10K is reached by March 31, sagecomm is going to match every dollar donated - up to another $10K!!
Tips for getting the most burn time out of any candle
The first burn is the most important burn. As a general rule, burn your candle for 1 hour for every inch in diameter. Make sure the entire top layer of the candle is liquid before extinguishing. Candles have a memory (who knew?!) so having an even layer of melted wax across the top prevents tunneling.
Keep that wick trimmed! Trimming the wick to 1/4 - 1/8 of an inch before you light it again for a cleaner burn - less sooty residue - and the flame will be clean & bright.
